Nushagak Cooperative today announced that its Board of Directors has hired Robert Himschoot as their new Chief Executive Officer/General Manager effective June 1, 2017. Mr. Himschoot’s vision, strategy and background in telecommunications will be an asset as we enter our next chapter.

The board of directors hired an outside recruiting firm that advertised nationwide. They received 30 applications with 19 of those they considered qualified. After further review and interviewing of candidates, Mr. Himschoot was offered the position and accepted.

Mr. Himschoot is a long time resident of Alaska and previously lived in Dillingham. He has 30 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry and 10 years telecom management. He started his career in telecommunications in Las Vegas as a Trunk Technician and from there he moved to Alaska to continue working in the field.  While in Dillingham he was on the City council, was a commercial fisherman and worked for GCI. He has experience working in rural Alaska with various rural telecommunications companies and vendors throughout the state of Alaska. He looks forward to learning more about the services that Nushagak provides and becoming a valuable asset for our Cooperative.
