Pre Green-up Fire Warning – Pre Green-up is the time before tree leaves and new grass develop. It’s the most vulnerable time of the year in regard to forest fires. Please use caution with burn barrels, campfires and fireworks. Keep fire extinguishers or water nearby when working with flammables. If a fire occurs in Bristol Bay, its remote location will make it difficult for wild land firefighters to get here quickly. Due to the increase in Bark Beetle activity, fires in the region may also be unpredictable and fast moving. Supervise children with extreme caution with any fire or flammable materials such as outdoor fires or fireworks. Good fishing and have a safe and enjoyable summer! A public message from BBNA Forestry Department.
